Baby Heinrich

This is my first time to post a picture of my half-brother (dad's side). So, this is baby Heinrich or Heinz as they call him. I'm not so sure if I am happy or sad when the time comes for me to meet him when I get to Canada. So, there! He's turning 9 months old on April 27.

A V-Day Blog Entry

It's been a looooooooooong time since I last blogged. Anyway, I had a movie date with my roomies Kat and Grace. We watched Marley and Me. The movie which made me cry really hard. It was a really good movie. Actually...one of the best movies I watched so far! I plan on buying the book. Hmm, that's it. Watch it, guys!

Mixed Emotions

Je suis très heureux, but at the same time, triste. Okay, forgive me. I miss speaking in French. I'm not even sure if that particular French phrase is gramatically correct. What I mean about that is "I am very happy but at the same time, sad." I've been thinking of the right words to say/type but------sigh. My thoughts are very disorganized. I guess I'll just type in whatever comes into my mind.

-I am not just happy for the ateneo for being this season's champion in the UAAP Men's Basketball, I am more than happy that I can't find the perfect term to use.

-I surely am very proud of Ateneo and the team. Good job, guys!

-I guess I am truly blessed to be in the right school at the right time. Rapsa Atenista.

-I am sad, though, because this is Chris and Yuri's last year in the Ateneo. Yuri is so friendly. Too bad, I paid too much attention to Jai and Chris and forgot about the other players of the team. I feel so guilty.

-Jai never fails to make me happy.

-I have read a lot of stuff that I could not forget like "It ends in Game Tiu", "Wow! Baclao!", "gRABEH na TIU!".

-Paying Php600 for an upper box b ticket is really worth it. I am so glad I was there in Araneta during the championship. Oh! And cutting Accounting class is also worth it.

-I am really, really happy that this is not Jai's last year. I will be able to see him again next year. :) Yay!

-Spongecola's Puso is really, really nice. Watch the video of it. I like it because of the song and well, because Jai's a part of that video. Haha.

"Matalo kung matalo
Huwag ka sanang
Magkakamaling
Sumuko na lang
Woah"

-We did not lose, though. Haha. Yay!

"Kumaripas ka na
Humanda ka na sa
Paglipad
Pakpak nati'y
Ilalantad
Woah"

-Blue eagle na blue eagle ang dating :)

"Ang puso
Iaalay
Sa laban
Kapalit ay tagumpay"

-The team really worked hard for it and true enough nakamit natin ang tagumpay!

-Let us thank the Lord for the victory. :)

-One Big Celebration after a One Big Fight! See you guys at the bonfire! :)

Justine's Holiday

Since it's Justine's holiday tomorrow, I got too lazy to do anything related to school. Since I don't have any class tomorrow, I decided to rent 5 movies to watch and bought a Java Chip frap. And since I got too bored after watching one movie, I decided to do some photoshopping. And that's it.

Oh and I wanted to watch a free musical play in Alabang tonight but I don't know how to get there by myself since my roommate can't come with me....and so I stayed at our dorm. Okay! Gotta do my english paper now.

Justine's holiday: I've got two classes for tomorrow (Com11 and Eng12) and both are free cut. :) yay for me!

To Everyone Who Loves Chris: This Blog Entry Is For Tiu

I didn't actually write a blog entry for or about Chris Tiu but I just copied and pasted these stuff I have read in the internet and I just want to share it with you guys. :)

Riding the Tiu-Tiu train By Bianca Consunji

MANILA, Philippines—Right now, one of the most frequently photographed spots in the Ateneo de Manila University is probably in Gate 1, right by the Blue Eagle Gym. There, larger-than-life standees of the entire Ateneo seniors basketball team hover over pedestrians and motorists, orange basketballs perched on their fingers.
However, more often than not, people stop to pose with only one standee: Chris Tiu’s, to be specific. The 23-year-old cager single-handedly raised female basketball fandom to strange heights, and advertisers know it. After all, it’s his chinito mug that’s selling thousands of Adidas jerseys (plus shampoo and skincare, among others) across the country. And don’t forget the TV shows.
While basketball has always been a popular sport in the Philippines, even the most prolific players in the past couple of decades will be hard-pressed to match Tiu’s popularity. It’s partly because Tiu has become the epitome of the so-called “perfect guy.” Ask any bubbly teenager what she likes about Chris Tiu, and chances are she’ll gush, “He’s good-looking! And smart! And nice! And wealthy!”
The more cynical will remark, “He’s too perfect, so there’s probably a catch somewhere.” However, aside him from already being in a relationship (much to the dismay of thousands of girls), it’s hard for fans and detractors alike to pinpoint any visible faults. He isn’t gay, he doesn’t have a secret violent streak, and he doesn’t spend his off-court hours dealing with shady characters. So, what’s the flaw?
From the way I see it, he was born with a flaw that was magnified the moment he stepped on the court and achieved superstar status. It’s his name. Every single shrieking female Chris Tiu fan has, at one time or another, used his name as a pun. It’s an epidemic that no one case escape—a religion, almost. Some call it the “Iglesia Ni Chris Tiu.” Others choose to call themselves Christiuans, followers of “Christiuanity.”
Some girls even have an anthem, sung to the tune of “You and Me” by Lifehouse. It goes, “Chris Tiu and me, and all other people…” It probably won’t make it to the Top 10 hits, but teenage girls are singing it, anyway (and consequently driving their boyfriends nuts). In Ateneo, shirts with “Today is Tiu’s day” emblazoned across the front sell like hotcakes.
Scary
The scary thing is that it isn’t just the fans who effortlessly come up with corny puns. When I first wrote about the Chris Tiu phenomenon on my blog, dozens of people just had to put in their own bits of wordplay. My own boyfriend, for instance, said that Chris Tiu probably sinks all those great three-pointers because he wears great “rubber Tius.”
The madness isn’t limited to Ateneo, either. After watching UP experience a crushing defeat at the hands of Ateneo, some friends said, “Tiu-gi na ‘yung chances natin para makabawi sa UAAP, nadaan sa Tiu-nami.” Others pretended to be better, saying, “Tiu-mamba lang ‘yung Ateneo.” Rabid fans think that he’s a Tiu-perman of some sort, egging him to “Tiu-t that ball!”
It’s an epidemic that almost makes me want to hide under a rock until the end of the UAAP season; who knew that Filipinos could be so corny? Personally, I think it’s time to “es-Tiu” this madness.
Corniness aside, Chris Tiu has become a god of some sort not just in Ateneo, but all around the country. It’s been a while since women have had a good-looking basketball player to fawn over (half of them look like they’ve been beaten with a heavy wooden club), so the levels of adulation are getting quite crazy, especially since Ateneo looks like it’s headed for the UAAP crown. Online forum threads are dedicated to him, and whenever he posts an entry on his blog, hundreds of people leave comments in a matter of hours.
It’s quite amusing to step back and watch the hordes of women go nuts about a single basketball player. Maybe it’s because his sister is a good friend, and it would be weird to gush about her baby brother. Maybe it’s because I never really understood the UAAP hype, since I studied in UP, where our “UP Frightened Maroons” have consistently placed in the lower ranks. But in any case, it’s fun to play around, thinking of puns for Tiu’s name.
Food for thought. Tiu on that for the meantime.

Very conservative at down to earth si Chris.

Anyway, in addition to Consunji's article, here are some words/phrases/sentences I have read that involves the name of Tiu:

1. We're proud to be aTIUnistas!
2. Win or lose it's the school we TIUs!
3. TIUperman saves the day!
4. chemTIUn na kami!
5. We love seventeen, don't TIU?

Exactly A Year Ago...

Joyeux anniversaire, little cousin Martin! Oh my! My little cousin is already seven years old. Who would have thought that God will let us have him for seven years and I pray we'll have him for sooooooo many more years to come. He is a premature baby and when he was born, the doctors were not sure whether he will survive or not. I think he was only 6 months and 2 weeks old in his mother's womb and then his mother gave birth to him already. He celebrated his birthday twice but today is his real birthday. The first celebration was at KFC Dagupan last March 19.

Justine Bianan, Ronellyn, and Karlo went to our house and celebrated Martin's birthday with us. After eating, we went to our old school and attented the HS '08 graduation. Wow! I didn't notice I survived a year in college. Exactly a year ago, we were there in our school's gym, wearing our caps and gowns, assembled to march, to receive our diplomas/medals/awards, to bid goodbye to our friends/barkadas/batchmates/teachers, and to prepare ourselves for college. When we arrived in our old school, I felt an extraordinary kind of joy, a joy I can't exactly explain how it really felt like. All I know is that it felt so good. Especially when I saw a few of my HS batchmates, those people who made my HS life sooooo memorable. It was just like the good--oh wait!---great old days, when we were sharing "cheese" and "kornikles", when we were copying homeworks (especially in math), when we were giving and calling our teachers a different name behind their backs (ssh!), patiently waiting or more like stalking our crushes, and when we were just hanging out and enjoying each other's company. Sigh! How I miss those times but oh well! I'm trying to get used to my new life now. And it was nice to spend time with them even if we only get the chance every vacation and not everyday. We laughed a lot today, took a lot of pictures, smiled a lot, and hugged a lot, too! We may not be the seniors of our school already and some may have forgetten us but I know that we somehow contributed/left something in our old school which will make our alma mater be proud of us. Our batch is already a part of history. Only a red book which we call the "roots", stuck in a corner in our library, will remind the future students of our old school that we became a part of ES. I miss my teachers, the guard, the canteen staff, my friends/classmates/batchmates and other people I met in my old school.

Oh and I miss Karlo, too! Not Karlo my boyfriend but Karlo when he was still my fried chicken.
